Frazier Park is just off Interstate 5, North of the Los Angeles metropolitan area about 45 minutes from the last traces of city. The Burbank Airport, Universal Studios, Six Flags Majic Mountain, Ronald Regan Presidential Library and beach are all 60to 90 minutes away (traffic permitting). EVENT LOCATION 10646 Cuddy Valley Rd, Frazier Park, CA 93225 Frazier Park is a very small town that lies inside the beautiful Los Padres National Forest and Southern San Emigdio Mountains. The elevation is approximately 5,500 feet. Daytime temperatures in early October can be cool but comfortable with nighttime temps dipping into the 30s. LOCAL SERVICES There are motels, restaurants and small markets for limited groceries within 10-15 minutes of the venue in Frazier Park and at the Faizer Mountain Park Rd junction with Interstate 5 in Lebec, Ca. CAMPING AT THE VENUE There will be an open area for camping with minimal power and water so bring water so bring power banks if you have them and water for drinking & hand washing. There may be a place to charge mobile phones but nothing more. Bring a good flashlight and batteries. It could be cold, nighttime temps can drop into the 30s, daytime should be in the low 70s. Be bear aware, they are not expected but possible. Do not leave food out and unattended, store all food and food waste in airtight containers like freezer bags. NO CAMPFIRES, we are in a high-risk fire area. GENERAL INFORMATION The shooter participation fee is $40. Every person attending, competing or not, must sign the liability release form. Upon signing the liability release and paying the shooter participation fee, a wrist band will be issued. The wristband must be always worn while on the property. There will be one Porta Potty available. No smoking unless in a designated area. No alcohol consumption during the day or when shooting at night. Kids under 13 must be always accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. NO PETS Mobile service should be okay, if not Frazier Park is about 10 minutes away for a reliable connection. Extra popups and folding tables would be welcomed. Bring slingshot stuff to share/trade/barter. SCHEDULE Friday October 3rd 3:00pmVenue Opens, participants and campers may begin arriving. The practice range opens. Saturday, October 4th 8:00am Participant Kick-off Meeting (mandatory) & Picture 8:30am Shooting competition begins 4:00pm Shooter Scoring Sheets must be turned no later than this time. 6:00pm Awards Presentation Sunday, October 5th 10:00am Event concludes, all camp sights must be cleared. Shooters and campers may arrive the day before the tournament begins after 3:00pm. Sunrise is at 6:50am and sunset is at 6:32pm EVENTS & RULES There will be seven events of which four will be used in the tournament scoring. Two are optional and are for bragging rights. Scored Events ➢ 10 Meter Knockdown (Main Event) ➢ 25 Yard Shoot ➢ Speed Shoot ➢ Woods Course Optional Events ➢ Soup Can Challenge ➢ Head-to-Head Shoot Off Shooters will be provided with individual scoring sheets to be filled out when participating in each scored event. For each event, the shooter must find a third party of their choosing to do their scoring and sign off on the sheet. Scoring sheets must be turned in by the cutoff time. Failure to get them turned in on time will result in disqualification. Scored shooting will take place over the course of the day with awards being presented at the end of the day. Shooters and campers may arrive the day before the tournament begins after 3:00pm. The practice range will open at 3:00pm the day before the shooting for scores begins. The scored events are as follows. - 10-meter Knockdown (Main Event) WSA rules, 5 knockdown targets at 10 meters, five rounds, scored by size, five different sized targets, smallest is worth more points than the largest. Points; 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10. Each shooter get four rounds with score of each round being added for a points total in that event. During each round, there must me no more than 90 seconds between shots. Total points possible: 120 - 25 Yard Shoot Each shooter will have 10 shots. The inter circle hits will be counted as 3 points, outer circle hits will earn 1 point. Target hits intersecting a line will be counted as inside the line. Only hits on the paper are counted. Total points possible: 30 - Speed Shoot Targets are ten cans (vegetable size) will be lined up on a board 10 meters from the shooter. The shooter has one minute and unlimited rounds to knock as many as possible of the board. Scoring - cans 1-5 are worth 1 pt each, cans 6-7 are worth 2 pts each, cans 8-9 are worth 3 pts each, can 10 is worth 10 pts. Total points possible 25 - Woods Course Shooters will walk from station to station; there will be 30 stations. Steel targets will be set at different distances and elevations. The shot will be taken from a designated shooting point. Each shooter gets up to two shots, only one-shot scores. Shooters may not practice the course before their scoring round. Scoring – first hit value is 3 pts, second hit value is 1 pt. Total points possible: 90 Bonus Events - Soup Can Challenge (Thank you to Michael Guerrini & Piece and Slingshots) 10 shots at a swing soup can, 8 pts per hit and an extra 20 pts if 5 hits in a row. Special award is planned TBA. - Head-to-Head Challenge Details of the event will be announced. Shooters choosing to participate will donate $2, the winner takes all the pot.
